A year ago the “Ice Bucket Challenge” was trending all over the globe and now it’s the turn of Hold A Coke With Your Boobs that, supposedly, exists to spread awareness of breast cancer. The viral ALS Ice Bucket challenge of last summer is the reason behind this Hold A Coke With Your Boobs challenge that’s nothing but just a “worst way to make anyone aware of anything while showing off your body” that people gave a name of a challenge.

The Hold A Coke With Your Boobs only allows people to show off their best assets while giving it a name of breast cancer awareness. Even the official Facebook page of the challenge is all about girls showing off their breasts. They also try to decide whose is the best with only some passing mentions of breast cancer.

But few people claim that this is actually true and spreads awareness. Jenna Glazer of the Young Survival Coalition says “I’ve seen the campaign, I’m not really sure what it’s trying to achieve quite honestly. I think it’s taking an issue like breast cancer, and in a lot of ways really trivializing it and sexualizing it.”

She is the chief development officer for the organization that supports and educates women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer. Jenna is a survivor of breast cancer herself and she came to know about it through Facebook.

A talent scout and model are the ones who started this challenge. There’s a message on the challenge’s Facebook page that said “Please challenge your friends to do it, They can either do the challenge, donate to their favorite charity, or both. It’s up to them. Also to people who are saying this is insensitive to the women who have lost their breast. 1) keep in mind that when we started this, it had nothing to do with cancer, but that the people who were taking part in it wanted it to be.”

Why not just donate some money or volunteer for an organization instead of showing your breasts with cokes for an excuse to post your pictures. Don’t do that. Just don’t pretend it’s going to make anyone aware of anything except people seeing your body.
